The Bryan McCabe and Leafs Website

Why am I updating this site for the first time in months? Because I have an essay due tomorrow of course. Hey dudes, it's been awhile. McCabe coughed up the puck tonight in overtime again to Komisarek, and it cost the Leafs the game. McCabe is not having a great season .. I don't think he's received so much criticism in his entire career. Yeah he's getting paid a lot, but as a fan, you've gotta wonder .. what's going on in his head right now? And I don't mean that in an insulting sense .. it's just that a friend of mine who is an athlete told me that these mental breakdowns only happen when you have something else on your mind. I'm not saying you should feel sorry for him ... McCabe has to expect this considering how much he's getting paid and considering the city he's playing in. But at the same time, patronizing the guy isn't going to make him play better. Just sayin. And if there's anyone I'm critical of right now it's leafs management .. they've done shit all for the past few years. This team is going to sink like a ship if they don't shake something up soon. Come onnnn John Tavares! / November 14, 2007

Introduction

This site is for Bryan McCabe fans, Leaf fans... but even if your not a fan of McCabe or the the Leafs, browse around! I have lots of features on other NHL teams and players. This site opened August 22, 2002.. learn more about the webmasters by checking "The Crew."

Why did i choose Bryan McCabe? Well I have been a fan of his for a really long time, dating back to his days with the Islanders. He is just an absolutely amazing all around player and his future definetly looks promising in the NHL.

The Maple Leafs aquired Bryan McCabe in a trade with Chicago, McCabe for Alexander Karpotsev and a fourth round pick. For McCabe, it wasn't easy at all for him to get to where he is now. He went through three other NHL teams (the Leafs being the fourth the following year) in five years. That's a lot of work for a rookie.

After a slow start in his first season with the leafs, McCabe picked up the slack in the second (2001-02).  During that campaign, he recorded a career high in goal (17), assists (26), and points (43). However, they were not just individual accomplishments as he ranked 2nd in goals and 13th in points among defencemen and ranked 13th in the NHL and first on the leafs in hits (250), and boy does he know how to hit.  He also led the leafs in blocked shots (122) that same season.  With the loss of key D-men like Dmitri Yuskevich and Robert Svehla, Bryan McCabe is arguably the Leafs leader on defense. After all, it's not like it's his first time... but let's save the discussion on bad Islander's management for another day.

What i like most about Bryan is, he plays with heart, grit, and determination. Whether he shows it in his double cheek checks, dropping the gloves, blocking shots, or wiring that beauty of a point shot. I believe that one of the reasons why Tomas Kabarle is the outstanding defenceman displayed for us today is because of Bryan McCabe. He is a great rolemodel for him and young defenceman everywhere.

And for all you girls wondering, the man is married (props to Marina!) If you want to put my banner on your page... I can link yours too. E-mail me or check "wallpaper" for details.
